I have an 87 suzi DT75. My tach died on me<br />last time out. I went and bought a new tach<br />did the install... I then find out that the new tach isn't working. Well i did some looking around and find that when the motor is worm the tach will move a little. I can (and get this)turn the motor off twice after worm up and on the third start, the tach works like a champ! Turn the motor off and restart, the tach will mot work again. I put a mulittester on the tach signal post and im getting a negitive reading something that looks like -0.65vdc. After i got through the restarts when the tach starts to work again,<br />i get, at idle 6 to 8 vdc. ??? any help. Is the mag bad or what?
