Hello,
I just bought a 1990 130 yamaha (V-4). The upper cylinders have 145 psi, the lowers both have 135 psi--Any reasonable explaination??? and would that be acceptable comp. for being 12 years old?? Also,I would like to check the oil injection system. Is there a good way to be sure it's sending enough oil?? Thanks for any help....Ken

Re: Yama 130 compression

It is still in spec. But is this engine carberated or fuel injected? If it is carb'd, I would disable the oil injector, and run mixed (just to be safe).
I don't trust those oil injection systems, because when they fail, so does a rod or piston. Just my .02

Thanks 12Footer, I agree with your opinion of oil injection, but I like the convenience and want to give it a chance.
