Need Help With Yamaha Exciter Jet Boat

My friend has a 1997 Yamaha excieter 220 twin (with the two cycle engine). One of the engines refuses to turn over while being cranked. The spark plugs are almost brand new, and the oil level is right where it needs to be. If anyone happens to know anything about these motors, please respond with any comments on how to remedy this situation.

We all need more info. When you say it will not turn over, you mean the starter is not turning the engine? Or do you mean that it is turning over but will not pop off?

sorry for not being specific. the starter is turning on both engines, but the left engine is not firing. it will just crank indefinatly.

we pulled the spark and saw that when we crank the engine, it will spark once but then not spark anymore. the right engine is still turning over but the left engine isnt doing anything. im starting to wonder if there is some type of problem with the starter.
