Lift cylinder fluid leak....repair or replace??

My 1st Yamaha ever.Always been a Johnnyrude guy.Center main lift cylinder has a slight leak ,been dealing with it for a year and I want to do something about it this off season.Got a good Yamaha guy right near me.Should I have him repair the cylinder or should I get a 2nd hand lift setup and have him switch it out?? My Evinrude guy suggested getting 2nd hand lift setup when he was servicing my 150 Oceanpro that had same issue so I did.My Yammie is a 2000 200hp Saltwater series 2 stroke

its a $3 seal, I would simply get it re-sealed

You will have to reseal a second hand unit anyways so why not just fix yours.
