On the 703 control, the safety engine stop lanyard-pull switch has a black and a white wire attached. When the lanyard is armed and ready, is the circuit between black and white wire open or closed? I want to trace these wires to the engine without disassembling the 703 and then install another kill switch at the engine.

I need to add that the new switch I bought has two sets of terminals, one is NORMALLY OPEN and the other set is NORMALLY CLOSED. One set is labeled Magneto and the other is Ignition.

On most magneto motors the kill circuit is OPEN when motor is running.

The kill switch is open when the lanyard is installed. Lanyard pulled the switch closes. Applies a ground to the CDI. Motor stops.
