Yamaha F50 TLR Four Stroke year 2000 Stalling when put in gear

The engine will start ok and will idle at around 850rpm, after a while the idle speed drops to just over 600rpm.
If I put the engine in gear while at 850rpm everything is ok. If I try it at 600rpm the engine stalls.
I have changed the plugs, checked the water/fuel separator and the fuel filter and they are ok.
What to do next ?

Clean the carburetors.
