Look at the specs on the website. Might be waiting awhile for the 2029 model. :joyous:

Ha, didn’t catch that *2019

I looked on the Yamaha site but only see the lightest model weight. And can’t get a manual without a serial number. I’ve seen 143 and 160 on different sites.

Yamaha says 126-143. 17 lb. difference between them shouldn't be a deal killer. That's a small cooler.

Consider a Tohatsu/Merc/Evinrude or a Suzuki 20hp if your worried about weight. Both are in the 100# mark for pull start models, and would be about 120lbs with tilt, trim and electric start. The F25 is the lightest 25hp though as it's a big 2cyl vs an inline 3cyl as used in the other brands

This would be for a 1963 Boston Whaler 13 for family fun and fishing.

I feel like I need 25HP for a minimum to be able to get on plane with the family or fishing buddies.

Right now now it’s between this F25LWTC plus a transom riser ~15 lbs for a total of 160lbs or a short shaft MFS30CETS-REMOTE at 180 lbs (the 25HP version weighs the same).

Also consider the Suzuki DF30A as it's lighter than a Tohatsu as well as being cheaper.

Oh man, this got me really excited for a second. But I don't think they sell the 30HP short shaft in the states. The DF25ATS is available though, just 5 less HP. I read on another forum that difference is just the ECU and ~2MPH on the top end.

The DF25ATS has power trim and tilt on a short shaft which is great. If I were to grab the F25LWTC I'd have to build up the transom (which I might like to prevent wash).

I assume they both would give me a similar holeshot all things being equal (everything = ~1000 lbs). Suzuki 25 = 490cc, Yamaha 25 = 432 cc.

Yeah. you gain 10 lbs for an extra cylinder. From what I see the F25 idles rather lumpy due to being a twin cylinder, but Yamaha has the troll control if you needed it..

weird it's not available as that brochure came from the US site and it's listed. But your right I can only find US reference to it in a long shaft

I like that Suzuki weight though, 159 lbs for the 30HP with remote and PTT. Now I'm considering this in the long shaft and getting a transom extension: http://www.koskiboatworks.com/custom-whaler-accessories.html, he says it weighs 5 lbs has put 50HP with PTT on them...
