Guys,

Had the boat out a few times this year. Tonight, halfway thru the cruise, the trim down from the throttle handle stopped working. Sometimes it clicks once for half a second, but mostly no response.

Up on the throttle handle responds fine. Up AND down work on the side of the motor, seeming to rule out relays or the pump motor.

It is a mechanical flush mount control with just the handle visible - I believe 6X0 type from Yamaha's catalog, but that also shows for 2006 and later motors? Pulling interior panels to access the control box is going to require removing a section of windshield. Any experience where to look, and/or how to remove replace the switch from this control type if it is the culprit?

Thanks,
Terry

Got the dash and windshield off, and confirmed the switch had inconsistent continuity on the down side only. Jumping 12V to the boat side harness pins drove the motor up and down without issue.

Old switch is out, new one 6X0-82563-01-00 is on order.

Thanks,
Terry
