2005 yamaha 150 4 stroke drive shaft stuck.

Replacing water pump. lower unit will not come off. Drive shaft stuck. Got in down about 1/2 inch. will not move any further. what do I do now.

did you remove the screw under the trim tab??

If it moved 1/2" I would say the driveshaft is not stuck.----Perhaps a shift linkage.----Salt water involved ?
