HI all

Replacing a head gasket on my 25hp suzuki outboard in hopes of fixing my milky oil issue. I have never replaced a head gasket on this outboard before. Can someone layout some tips and pointers on disassembling and replacing the head gasket? I have a service manual but does not show how to specifically take apart the head gasket without removing the power head.

Have you checked compression? A bad head gasket that lets water into the oil usually has low compression on one or more cylinders.

As far as the manual instructions - Maybe removing the powerhead is the only way to do it.

I have to ask - 2 or 4 stroke motor?

Its a four stroke and I haven't been able to check the compression because I do not have the correct adapter for my compression gauge. I will have to order one since no local business has the correct size I need.
