Suzuki 40hp motor

Hi i bought a motor it is old suzuki 40hp about 80s model but it doesn’t have a identification plate on the outside where do i look on the inside for the identification

Is it a 2 stroke, or a 4 stroke? If the former, probably a DT40. If the later, then a DF40.

The serial plate should be on the left side of the upper leg. I don't think there's anything inside the cowling.
