My 1996 Yamaha 2 stroke bogs when throttling up over 3800 rpm with heavy load in boat, 4 men. Shuts back down to 3500 rpm. I cleaned the fuel filter, cleaned and put new kit in carbs, and ran on a new portable fuel tank & hose. Ran fine with just me in the boat. I did check the fuel pump to make sure no hole in diaphragm. Also has new plugs a few trips back. Runs great at 3800 rpm or less. Was told to ask for "rodbolt". Appreciate help from all. Thanks Buck19

OK, I will have to preform the test you requested. Give me a few days. Thanks

Oh...I can only wish my 115 Yam had only a problem like this. She is currently in a poor state after the last owner ran water contaminated 2 stroke through her. Rebuild pending.
Interested to hear how you get on.

Ok, I checked the compression. Two cylinders had 150 lbs, one had 148 lbs. and one had 145 lbs. Checked spark jump gap and had 3/8" on 3 leads and 5/16" on one lead.
