Hi
i want to replace the ignition points and condenser on my Yamaha 2b. I managed to fine some new, old stock points on eBay, but to buy a condenser new is ridiculous money for what it is. Could I use a motorbike condenser, which are a fraction of the price?

thanks

I see no reason why a similar sized condenser would not work. Many Yamaha outboard motor parts and Yamaha motorcycle parts are one and the same.

the purpose of the condencer is to protect the points from arcing and welding screwing up the contacts.
not sure if there is a rating on those old things or not.

been many years since I even saw one or a motor that used them
