Hello, I am new here so I want to thank everyone in advance for there help. I am looking at replacing my 2007 mercury 115 optimax that drop another cylendar with a 2000 yamaha vmax 150. I currently have flush mount controls and had one person tell me they thought I could swap my controls position to allow for the difference in the push/pull function of the throttle. I called my local mechanic and he told me he didn't think it was possible with the controls I have. Which seem to be the Gen 2 4000 series merc controls. First question is, is it possible to switch the push/pull mechanism in the flush mount controls I have, Second question is can someone confirm the push/pull is opposite on a 2000 vmax vs a 2007 opti. and third is if it cannot be done, Can someone tell me what version side mount or flush mount controls would I need for a 2000 vmax 150 yamaha?
