Anybody got a process for removing the lower cowling on a 2007 200 hp Yamaha 2 stroke.? I apparently have to do this to get to my shifter hookup and can't find anything online. Thanks in advance.

The block (aka power head) is lifted so as to gain access to the bolts that hold the lower cowling in place.

Disconnect the fuel line, battery cables, trim and tilt power feed wires, pitot tube hose (if used), throttle and shift cables, any other electrical or mechanical stuff that needs to be removed and then all of the block attach bolts. Hoist the block from the motor. The bolts that hold the lower cowling in place will then be readily accessible.
