The PROBLEM with Yam's oil tank: the tank should be cleaned out YEARLY!!! There is usually some condensation in the tanks(both) one on the motor and the one in the boat. The condensation forms and settles in the bottom. There it forms an algae that actually grows in oil and diesel fuel. This GUNK eventually gets sucked into the delivery pump and sent to the motor tank and then into the VST and eventually into the motor where it can cause damage to the cylinders. I cleaned a friends twin 250 Yam tanks and got almost 1/3 qt. of the sludge out of each tank. Mercury tanks have a different draining system and don't usually have a problem with the gunk.
