Hey guys, first post here, I have a quick question regarding my outboard. I was changing out my lower unit oil and the regular motor oil to get ready for the summer season. After draining both oils and filing the lower unit, I came back the day after to fill the regular motor oil, and noticed oil streaks coming from the bottom of the cowling. This has never happened before, so it is a little odd for me. I am going to attach a picture of what I mean. I hope someone has an answer for me! Thanks!

Couldn't upload from my phone, I will when I get home!

With no other info at this point, I'd say you spilled some while draining the motor oil and it found a way out.

I am not really sure why the picture ended up rotated, but you can clearly see the oil streaks coming from the upper part of the motor. After inspecting the inside of the engine, I was not able to find any excess oil that was built up or even where this old oil was coming from.

not uncommon to spill oil from filter / drain

You are the only one that could tell where it came from.
None of us was there to watch you

I haven't changed the filter yet, or filled up the oil yet. So there couldn't possibly be any spilling from me.

If you did not suck the oil out of the dipstick tube and spill some,
and If the drain is not where the oil came from
and you did not pull the filter,
then you must have a leak
