25HP Suzuki Outboard

I was given a 25HP Suzuki 3 cyl outboard from my dad.
Last run he managed to get some water into the oil injection and killed the motor.
I just had it at the shop and they said there is a hard spot in one of the cylinders and it is not worth fixing it.

I am debating pulling it apart as a project for myself to see if I can save it or not but I want to do some research on what the parts are going to cost me to see if it is worth looking any further.

I do not know the year of the motor, the serial number on it does not match up to the standard ones since there are no letters.
Can anyone help me out.

Serial number on the side of the clamp is 02507-461654

take it apart to see what it needs.
That does not cost anything but your time.
no one can tell what it will cost until you know what all problems it has

Thanks, That is exactly what I was planning.
But I wanted to know the year so I could look up parts and drawings as I go.
The link you sent is exactly what I was going to look for once I found the year so I could find what i needed as I go.
