I started having issues starting the motor with the key on the water. To get back to the launch area I jumped the solenoid and it fired right up. It was intermittent starting with the key at the house testing it and now it will not start with the key. I have 12v going to the small pole on the solenoid on the ignition wire from the key but for some reason I also have 12v on the other small pole for the ground side of the solenoid. I have another generic solenoid in my garage that I hooked up as a test and it also is getting 12v to both small poles as well. Is that normal? Thanks for any help. Not sure why it wont turn over on either solenoid with the key. If I jump either solenoid it fires right up.

bad ground connection would be my guess.
needs some where for the 12 volts to go when energized.
trace wires and check connection

You were right... The little 5" ground jumper wire that comes from the solenoid was broken internally. As soon as I made a new one it fired right up! What a nuisance, Ive been playing with everything for 2 days trying to solve this, Thanks my friend you were spot on!
