penta 4.3 carb missing line/hose

noticed theres a line missing. maybe a plug. but on my carb. there's no line running to this port, and it is sucking air. the boat is new to me. wondering if it's suppose to be pluged off. or is there a line missing..... hope you can see it. this is not mine, but a pic I found, front of the choke assembly

Volvo made probably 50 4.3 models.
4.3 could be a lot of different motors.
Please include the year and complete model#
That hole goes to a solid pipe to the intake manifold.
The parts diagrams I find don't show a pipe.(called a heat exchange tube used on older motors)
Pics of your intake manifold?

Assuming you're referring to the brass port to the left of the choke in this picture...

I called Holley about it awhile back while looking for a vacuum leak. Long story short, they call it the heating tube (as jerry said) and it is designed to be a metered air intake. It should not have a line or plug. See numbers 57 & 58 below:

Yes that's it. Thanks guys. I cant find anything so I'm assuming it's ok to plug it ?

got it, theres a screen in there, it suppose to suck air, thanks for the help
