4.3l vortec

I'm new to the marine scene, bUT I have a 1995 donzi 182 medallion xl, it was given to me by my dad but the motor is bad on it due to not winterizing. It has a 4.3l vortec, 8 bolt intake and plastic timing cover, well a friend of mine has a 4.3l vortec motor out from a mid 80s boat, so my question is will it fit my boat?

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... A 4.3l from the mid-80s ain't a Vortec, that happened in '96,.....

There would be some "Gotcha's" along the way, but, ya, you can stuff an older motor into yer boat,....

Probably take some mixin' 'n matchin' though,....

Hit up a you-pull-it for a 96-2004 s-10 motor with low mileage. The 1995 V6 with 8 bolts would indicate the motor has been replaced at least once. As Bondo pointed out, vortec motors came out in '96
