Questions about AQ280PT

I recently purchased a 1984Carver Monterey with the Volvo Penta (GM350) 260hp and AQ280PT single prop outdrive. How much HP can these outdrives handle and if I want to go to DuoProp can I simply bolt on a DuoProp lower unit?

The unit can handle 450+ hp
Not sure about the bolt on duo.

You can bolt a duoprop lower onto your 280 upper unit, BUT there is a bearing race in the upper drive that needs re-shimming, when a lowerunit is switched.
