Do they make a rebuild kit for these motors? The only thing it seems to need is the two spring loaded terminals that supply power to the motor.

SAE J1171 is not a part number, it's a spec. that says it's safe for use in an engine compartment.

Ah, I see. Well I might check the local electronics store to see if they have any carbon brushes that will fit.

certain versions of volvo trim motors can be found for $70-$100 new. you may want to check around first to see if it is worth fixing.

*6 years later...*

This is the trim pump off my 1981 Citation Marquis. Don’t know if it works or not. Only a little oil dribbled out while removing hoses/tubes. Does that mean it’s empty? It’s greasy and heavy, nuts are rusty/corroded. Should I see if it still works or just replace it with a newer/lighter model?
