Hi everyone. <br /><br />I have a 2000 Glastron GS249 with a Volvo Penta 5.7ltr GS (carb) engine. I want to check the ignition timing but the Volvo manual states to see the MFR for this, it does not give any specs. <br /><br />I need to know how to put the electronic system in bypass mode, if indeed this is necessary, and what the timing should be at idle, and I guess at what idle speed. <br /><br />The distributor looks like it has two wires coming out of it. Do I need to disconnect something or jumper something or do I just check/adjust it as it is? Looks like it is currently running at 5 degrees BTDC with everything hooked up, which seems low to me. <br /><br />I would appreciate any input anyone may have no this topic.
