How much for new Mercruiser or Volvo 4.3 220 Hp?

I have a 2002 Larson SEI 180 I/O and it has a 3.0 135 Hp Volvo motor.<br /><br />How much would it cost to get a Mercruiser or Volvo 4.3 200 Hp motor installed, parts and labor? I live in North Texas if that helps with guesstimating.

I just checked the price for a new "Drop In" 4.3 Mercruiser at Bayshore Power. Carb (190HP) - $3895, MPI (220HP) - $5295. You probably could find better prices. Volvo also is probably in this price range. These prices are just for the engine, no labor. IMHO, you would be better off selling the boat and buying one with a 4.3

hello<br /> sell the current volvo package. in good shape it should be worth 3k or so. then buy the volvo xdp engine/drive package. its about 11k. but the advantage of the lighter duoprop drive with the V6 is wonderful<br /> good luck and keep posting

I just purchased a remanufactured engine from Jasper and so far, I am very happy with the performance, etc. With labor, I paid about 2500 and it has 18 month parts/labor warranty. Do yourself a favor...Have them install an oil relocation kit that will make changing the oil a breeze, adds to oil capacity, and keeps your engine compartment much cleaner. I purchased mine from Summit racing (auto version) for $26. I have a 4.3 mercruiser.
