    Where is the U-joint, inside the boat or in the water?

    What is the type of driving that is hard on the u-joint? I assume drive up???
    2003 Glastron GX 185, with VolvoPenta 4.3GL, currently running Stilleto Baypro III 14.25X21 at 46 mph and 4400 rpms. Other props were 3-blade aluminum 14.3X23 at 43 mph and 4400rpm, and 14.3X21 at 49mph at 4800 rpms.

    Some inside some outside. Out of the water unless you bellows are torn...

      That is good to know. Bellows are new and pliable.

      so what kind of driving is hard on them? I assume with trim up a bunch, lots of turning?

        High RPM's with drive all the way up is pretty hard on them, but lack of maintenance (no grease) is probably the main killer of U-joints...
