Last year I picked up a 17' boat with a volvo inboard penta powertrain. Think the vintage is mid 60's. It was stored in a hanger for a least 15 yrs. I cleaned the plugs, rotor and points, gave it some clean gas and made sure that it could get water thru the hose, and it seemed to run fine. I fixed up the boat..now I want to try an use it for real. The engine has a plate on it with AO 100 2418. Does that mean it is 100 HP? Would love to get a maintenance manual, or at least some advice from someone on what I should do before trying to use this unit for real on the water. I assume I should change all the seals, the oil and such..but I am a rookie. Any advice?

You should be able to find a manual, try Amazon.com. You might want to change the oil, let it run for an hour in your driveway, and then change it again. If you've replaced the points, plugs, wires etc., and the engine doesn't smoke, go for it! You may not want to go to far at first. :)
