volvo penta 4.3 sp/sudden loss of drive

Can someone please help I am fairly new to inboard boating.Today while cruising at 3000 rpm 30 mph the boat(a Wilker 19ft cuddy)suddenly felt as though the engine went into "neutral" all gauges read normal I eased it back to 2000 rpm and it was fine,it did it one more time again at 3000 rpm then it seemed ok could this be prop related?Thanks.

It sounds like it spun the hub. The in-laws boat did the same thing a few weeks back.
