Please help. I have a 4.3 Volvo Penta in overall excellent condition. Runs fine until when at around 4ooo rpm or above I trim the outdrive up or down. Then I get big backfires through the carberator. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

My Guess is;<br />You've got a Short between the Trim,+ Ignition Circiuts.....WHERE, is Anybody's Guess... Start with the Shake, Wiggle,+ Pull TESTS....

Your reveliminator is telling you to slow down. Your tack could possibly be off on the RPM's. The reveliminator is cutting off two or more cylinders causing it to backfire. For more help I would need to know more about your 4.3. You can call me at 1-800-949-2189 and I can discuss it with you.
