Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I ran the boat (2000 Four Winns Cruiser with VP V8 5.0 L engine) on muffs and today I noticed oil leaking from the bottom of propeller onto the stern dripping down. I have never seem this before. Can someone please shed some light into what is happening with this boat? Here is some pictures:

Welcome aboard.

Drain your lower unit lube and see how much water is in it. A leaking lower unit allowing water in can force the lube out through bad seals that let the water in.

Thank you :)

Does it make any difference that the oil is very dark and not milky looking?

As a background, she has been sitting for a few months and in preparation for the season I changed riser/manifold and ran it on muffs for two days on a row for half an hour each. Then this happened 🤔

pull your prop, you most likely have fishing line wrapped around the shaft that has cut the shaft seal

so at a minimum, your replacing a few seals and changing fluids.
