Looking for a schematic for the internal circuit of the 1980's trim indicator (p/n 828731). Trying to fix mine.

Thanks,

Kevin

Wiring schematic in the factory manual for the system

However if the gauge is dead, you may have to open your wallet wide for a NOS gauge. There are no schematics available for the inner workings

Good luck getting a 30+ year old matrix display to work.

Best you can do it check for 12 vdc at the incoming connector. If you have 12vdc there your pretty much done.

FWIW, my original would die after about 3 hours of use, then come back the next day. then after a while it was 2 hours......then finally 5 minutes....

so i picked up a NOS from a volvo dealer selling on Ebay for about $100 plus shipping

the prices range from $100 to about $500

a round generic gauge without the built-in limit switch capability is about $30

I always had trouble with the trim sender cable on the 280 models going through the transom shield, the rewind spring was not strong enough and the cable would get stuck in the sealing grommet. Greasing the cable worked for a short time.
The 290 series was an improvement but neither was a cheap fix.
