I plan to replace Exhaust Manifold and Risers on Volvo Penta 5.0 Gi 1999.
The replacement of the Mounting Bolts is very important, recommended, or is not necessary?
What about the Barr Marine Manifolds, half price relatively the OEM (Volvo Penta Manifolds 2000 US $) ?.
Thanks, Almeida

I would buy the whole kit with the bolts and gaskets. I used Barr on my 88 OMC that I converted over to the Volvo style exhaust. That was 2 years ago so far so good. The paint is not great quality and I’d paint them before installing.

Barr is good quality and in fact they do OEM castings for merc as well as others. Would definitely replace all bolts. When I repowered and used Barr manifolds they came with bolts and gaskets

Barr is the casting house for VP, Merc, PCM and all of edelbrock. as others stated, buy a complete kit.

bolts are cheap.

coat the threads with maalox (1000000000% better than always-sieze for exhaust bolts)
