Good Evening. I'm have a problem with my 2000 yr Volvo Penta 5.7gs. It shut stalls out after a while .Acts like it's running out of fuel. went through the entire fuel system all good. fuel pressure stays up as it's dying out.Carb still has gas in it.started checking out the ignition system found Distributor is to hot to touch. Coil is not. Distributor has the BID Module in it no longer serviced by Volvo. Has anyone run into this and how did you fix it

Swap out the dizzy for a delco voyager. About $350 for the dizzy, coil, and wires

Thanks ,looking into that. found a new module at Us Boat inc for $450.00. Whole Distributor like Delco would be cheaper. Still wondering if anyone has run into this problem . I can't find a way to test the module as to why it is getting so hot.

Bad ground and no heat sink grease.

Life is too short to worry about it.....swap dizzy, go boating
