Where is serial number on motor?

Recently bought a 1998 Chaparral 260 signature with a 5.7 GSI throttle body injected. Wanna buy some parts for the engine but not sure what model gsi I have. My mercs always had the serial number on the plastic cowl cover. Looking to pick up new thermostat and gaskets as well as temp sensor, plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

I just went through the same search. There should be a Volvo Penta sticker on the top but mine was rubbed out from age or wear. There is a stamped metal info plate riveted to the aft port side of the engine block.
Access for me was tight so the advice was to stick your phone down there and try to get a look that way which worked pretty well.
