I have been searching for timing marks

I have been digging and digging but i am confused about the timing on my 2000 5.7 GSi PEFS. I understand the procedure but for the life of me i don't get the correct marking. I have only one line on the damper and only an inverted "V" on the timing cover. Is that mark TDC or is it the 8 degree mark? I have an advance timing light do i set that to 8 and line up the mark?

Ayuh,....... That is Tdc, 'n ya, use the advance in the light,.....
