Last line of defence should your bellows split. I removed mine with a 3 legged puller with the legs turned though 180 deg.
I then screwed a length of threaded bar down the centre to splay out the legs behind the seal, then connected a slide hammer to the threaded bar and out it popped.
Thanks I will try to find a 3 legged puller. The only one i have is on a slide hammer and they are not grabbing it. I sure wish I had just left the thing alone. I'm stuck removing now that I mucked it up. Seemed like such a simple thing that has become a thorn in my side.
