I have the 10 1/2 risers with 3/8 8” bolts and can’t find the torque spec on them.

Unfortunately the 5.7-J service manual isn't available online for free that I know and the manual that covers up to the 5.7GXI-F would make your special type exhaust elbow size only a "guess" for true accuracy... 'Not to mention the confusion that incorrect manual shows for torque specs as it says on one page High-Rise Elbows are 12-18 ft.lb. then on another page says first pass is 11 ft.lb. and final pass is 27 ft.lb. but the higher torque specs may be covering the non high rise elbows with shorter bolts...Again a guess.

That mentioned your GXi-J OEM manual part number is 7748089 and without a Volvo dealer looking up the info you need for you your two options online would be to either order one manual used from say EBay as seen here, https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...48089&_sacat=0

Or sign up with scribd.com for $9.00 a month but first 30 days are free and Cancel anytime it says. Volvo Penta 7748089 5.0-5.7 Engine Manual | Internal ...

Search out Volvo penta bulletin p-25-1 5 and Volvo penta bulletin p-25-1 4 as they mention your elbow size and how to install them with special sealer but don't offer the torque specs.

Hope that helps somehow, good luck.

I too have the GXI-J and have researched the same figures as I will be re-installing a new engine in the next couple weeks. I have seen different figures also all in the 27-30ft/lbs range. Unless I find something more specific, I`ll shoot for an average in that range.
