Purchased a used boat, 2008 Chaparral 256 ssx. The owner says the dealer told him it was 375 hp the title has the horsepower listed at 400. How do I found out the exact horsepower?

Title is incorrect and wouldn't be the first time something was entered incorrectly, tht is unless someone has rebuilt the motor with hp parts

Funny thing this. When it comes to boasting about the HP of your boat around the marina...you’ll find all sorts of optimistic claims on power and speed. When it comes to the length of the boat...you’ll find most are on the pessimistic side....just in case the marina owner is listening and charges you that extra $$$ for the extra foot of length....haha. True story !
