I have recently purchased a StarCraft with a Volvo AQ130C and the previous owner told me he has 20W50 oil in it. I live in the Pacific Northwest (Vancouver Island, Canada) and I was wondering if I would I be better with a multi-grade or a straight weight

that viscosity will work, you don't want to go too low on the viscosity with marine inboards due to the high rpm use they see which can shear down the oil. I use the Mercruiser/Quicksilver 25/40 but have use straight weights in the past.
The 20/50 or 25/40 will give better starting at lower temps than straight weights, but I would not go down to a 10W anything on a marine inboard.

I would run rotella T4 15W40 diesel. its $13 a gallon shipped via amazon and would be a great oil for your motor. (I run it here in FL)
