Hello - I'm writing to see what steps I need to take in order to winterize my 2007 Volvo Penta 3.0GL.
Here's what I've done so far:
1) While the boat was still on the ramp removed the spark arrestor and sprayed in fogging oil until the engine died
2) Once off the ramp I removed the bottom drain plug to allow the water to flow out
3) Disconnected the batter and took it inside for a charging
4) Changed the Oil & Filter
5) Changed the fuel filter
6) Opened up the drain plug on the engine block (believe there is only one on the bottom right if you're looking at the engine from inside the boat)
7) Took off the upper thermostat hose and ran RV antifreeze through till it came out the bottom drain
8) Changed the gear lube in the lower unit
9) Gave the boat a quick wash and wax to get off any crud or debris
What else should I do to ensure the winterization is complete?
