3.0 starts and runs then dies

This is a boat I just bought a month ago. It is a 3.0 engine with a volvo Penta outdrive.
I don't know alot about this motor. It is on a 7 ft 2002 Glastron.

It runs great for the first 30 to 40 minutes then it slowly loses power. I can get it back up to speed for a minute then it loses power again. I can drive it slowly back to the dock but can't bring it up on plane.

I thought at first maybe a fuel filter, but someone said maybe it is a heat issue. Not sure if you need more specifics on the engine but if you could point me in the right direction. I would appreciate it.

what do the gauges read, have you checked/replaced the fuel filter

Could be the fuel tank venting is compromised. When symptoms occur, open the gas tank filler cap slowly and listen for a small rush of air going into the tank.
