5.0 GI - Removal of water pump sealing ring p/n 827247

[h=1]Engine 5.0 GI year 1999.
During the sea water pump impeller removal, I plan to replace also the water pump sealing ring (827247) the item 5.
What is the procedure to remove the sealing ring? Is necessary to remove the item 1

Until a more experienced person comes along, here is a vid which goes thru the process of rebuild. I do believe you need to remove item 1 in order to use a puller, unless you have enough room to use puller without removal

[h=1]The bearing and the sealing ring seems ok.[/h] [h=1]So, considering the difficulty to replace the sealing ring I will not replace it now.[/h] Thanks for your answer.

Good decision. If it`s not leaking, don't mess with it.
