270 upper gear housing ?

I have a 1985 glastron conroy x16 with a volvo AQ125bB and a 270 stern drive I purchased a 280 upper gear housing are they interchangeable if not I will be parting out this boat I have to much time and money in it now and I do not want to put any more into it so feel free to pm me looking for parts

welcome aboard

if the upper has the same input spline and the same number of bolts bolting it to the middle casting and the same style of steering pin, then yes, they are interchangeable.

you can change the input spline by changing the u-joints
you can swap over steering helmets to match the pin
the number of bolts mounting to the middle casting cant be changed

make sure to get a new o-ring for the joint between upper and middle casting
