Today out on the river the boat was running fine for a few hours. I stopped to let someone in the boat and when I went to start it no luck. It turns over and acts like it wants to start. If I crank it and give it throttle it revs up, but as soon as I release the key it stalls out. It obviously is getting fuel and spark. I have checked all the electrical I can think of. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also the alternator seemed to be overly hot, not sure if this was caused from cranking it over and over again. This is a 1998 4.3 GL PBYC S#4110166760. Thanks for any help.

I had a similar problem recently with my Chaparral 215 SSi. I searched for hours trying to discover the cause. Eventually, it turned out I accidentally hooked my foot on the kill-switch cord, and as soon as I hooked it back up the craft started and ran fine.

Could it possibly be as simple for you?

rrstl3.. I wish it was that easy. I had that issue last summer. I have even tested the switch to make sure it was still working. Thanks tho.
