Hi there,

I am unsure of what engine I have in a recently purchased boat. I have been told many things about this boat which are different both for better and worse! I have a tech coming tomorrow and he asked what engine I have. I was told 5.7, but is there a way to find out for sure? I have attached a couple of pics.
Thanks.

Can't tell from your pics. there should be a block number just below the port side head, on the backside of the engine. It may have the Liters stamped there as well. 5.0 or 5.7.

Just so you know, you have an automotive distributor on your engine. Not only is that very dangerous, your advance curve is not correct for a boat engine so your performance is going to suffer.

Wonder what else is not marine rated on that engine.
