IMG_0612[1].jpg i raised it up 2 3/4". the lil eska pushed a fully loaded boat (3ppl rods, trolling battery and motor) up a flooded river pretty good..its perfect for putt-puttin around lol

ty mr.crabs its a red-neck mod lol all i had to work with...i must have misunderstood what the coufin was then...no circut board to mess with was the concern...took it out again today.and like yesterday the prop feels like its slipping on the shaft??? is this prop slip? im using (once again what i had on hand),a trimmed down trolling motor prop. the small creek we fished is semi-flooded atm so that could be a factor.all in all im pleased with the "lil eska" and the effort everyone on iboats has put into it.

Try ebay for a cheap replacment prop, but remember model means alot when it comes to Eska props

im still runnin the trolling motor prop..i just didnt want to put more $ than i had to in this lil thing. its my first outboard ever!! BUT ive been runnin it pretty hard in stump,lay-down,pad,weed,brush infested water.and plan to go again this weekend.and ima say that lil eska is the ticket for small to mid size creeks..i fear if i go with a bigger motor the boat will get THRASHED!!! so ima invest a lil bit more into this lil jewel...couldnt'a done without without iboats tho...

I fish in stumpsville myself, I would rather buy a Eska prop than a johnson or yamaha, although I have bought a few....got a brand new turning point hustler for my 70 but I need it shaved a bit and retuned for my setup. Now I'm running my rebuilt 1975 uncupped 17p michagan wheel that just flys....

Well I'm off to the big shrimp festival today...peace out brothers

almost all of them will run good at 40:1 especially with synthetic to much oil and there a slobbering mess, what number plug have you got there.

its getting plenty of oil then,
What makes the diffrence on the oil mix is the rod bearing design and the cooling plate design, the older AV engines did not water cool the lower cylinder....that came along with the AV817's and 50:1 it took Tecumseh a few years to go from 32:1 to 50 but absolutly no design diffrence's were involved when the jump was made....I think between 1973 - 1976 something like that

Re: eska(sportfisher)1971 model #1733c 5hp

soon as i run my flapper valve about how good this motor runs,,,it spits and sputters, hard to start, shutters and will even stop running at high throttle...so i put it in the barrel for a controlled start, warm up and normal set up procedure...as i turned it back and forth i noticed what looked like water spurtting out around the reed valve housing???not at this low idle speed i said! so i used an index card with a blue post-it note to check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ7xaajVq_Q and i threw these in just cause they look good lol IMG_0632[1].jpg IMG_0633[1].jpg
