Hi All,
I have an old Sea King 6hp outboard that I have had in the garage for 20 years, with no real use over the last 10. My 14 year old has been bugging me, so we changed the lower oil in February, and finally put it on the row boat last week. Ran great, However, this past weekend when we pulled it off and brought it in, I noticed a puddle of oil below the prop area on the ground. I have looked, and in the picture with the red circle, it looks as if a seal in that area has failed, and as we put it up and down, it ran a it down the sides, and as it sat vertical for the last could days it has really run downwards now.
At one point, I had a copy I bought of the service manual. I have no clue where it is currently.
My question is, if I remove the two bolts, and either a. disconnect the two piece shaft or b. remove the one piece shaft, will there be a shift screw to loosen and remove, and how to I get to that seal to replace?

Looks like a 1970 Chrysler make based off the info I found for

normally there are 4 bolts that hold the foot on and if it has FNR then you have to disconnect a shift shaft. Never worked on a chrysler but let me do some research. Almost all motors are the same in the later years

I found my pdf manual today. I should be able to do the prop seals now. Need to get a puller for the prop gear now.
