Hi... Just a question on how I should leave the Elgin motor at the end of the season. Should I leave it empty and dry with no mix fuel in the top and glass cup under the carb or should I add more mix fuel with some Stabilizer in it and run it one last time to keep the valves and gaskets moist and not dry? Or is there another method of winterizing? Thanks

The 2 stroke mix is all you should need. If you are running ethanol fuel, I'd mix up a gallon of premium non ethl, and run it for awhile to flush out the junk fuel. You could fog it if you like, but it has survived since 1954 without being babied I'd guess.

run it dry, stand it up in the corner of the basement = winterized

Agree! I have a 1.2 Gamefisher I play with in the pond. My Dad had one of those Elgin 7'5; good motor.
