2006 Nissan 6hp 4 stroke engine oil leak

My 2006 Nissan 6hp 4 stroke is leaking engine oil from prop/ bolt for prop bearing carrier. I noticed it after trailering the boat 30 miles. It hasn’t been run for over a year. The leak is definitely engine oil not gear oil. How could the engine oil reach this area?

If your burning it and its coming out the exhaust is all I can think. Id pull the foot and look to see if its coating the inside where the water pump is located. BTW how did you determine it was engine oil?

Chances are the engine was turned in such a way that the lower unit wound up higher than the power head. Gravity is all that keeps the oil where it needs to be. Also, your engine is a Tohatsu so post under there next time as I never look here.
