I HAVE A SEARS WATERWITCH 571.11
THE TANK IS DENTED. DOES ANYBODY KNOW THE BEST METHOD TO TAKING THE DENTS OUT OF THE TORPEDO SHAPED TANKS?
I HAVE DRILLED HOLES IN ANOTHER TANK AND USED RODS TO TAP OUT THE DENTS. I THEN PLUGGED THEM UP WITH ALLUMINUM PLUGS AND BRAZED THEM SHUT. THIS WORKED OK. BUT I WANT TO DO A BETTER JOB WITH THE WATERWITCH AS IT IS QUITE RARE. ONE OF THE TORPEDO POINTS HAS BEEN DENTED IN AND SOLDERED. HAS ANYONE EVER WORKED THROUGH THIS PROBLEM?

Many years ago my Dad had an outboard repair shop. I can remember him taking compressed air and putting it in the fuel tank (don't know how many pounds). Then he would take a small hammer and tap around the dent. Pretty soon the dent would pop out.
